John Markestad lives near Portage, Wisconsin with his wife and best friend of over 50 years. He came late to writing, or rather he started writing when he was in college the first time and saw that he was a lost cause. Forty + years later, after a very successful career not writing, and suddenly semi-retired, he found himself with his winters free. The local two-year college in Baraboo had classes in creative writing and literary magazine composition and publishing…perfect. John was of an age by then to audit the classes for free, no college credit but with all the fun. Seven years later it’s 2021 and he has written eight science fiction novels, with five of them indie-published through Amazon online. John has the great delight of working with Dan (something-from-nothing.com) and Mike (crummycomics.com) to create and publish Dan’s comics and play scripts.
